Edmonton Industrial Districts Overview
Northeast
Edmonton’s Northeast Industrial District is a manufacturing and logistics hub with outstanding access to major roadways, two rail lines, an intermodal facility, and pipeline corridors.
The Northeast Industrial District is home to Aurum Energy Park, an 800 hectare industrial park with readily available serviced heavy and medium industrial zoned land.

The Northwest Industrial District is located adjacent to two major highways and serviced by a Canadian National rail line. It boasts a large supply of serviced land with a mix of industrial zoning ready to accommodate immediate development.

The South Industrial District is strategically located with easy access to major roadways, pipeline corridors and Canadian Pacific rail line, and intermodal facility and the Edmonton International Airport. It has a large supply of serviced land with a mix of industrial zoning ready to accommodate immediate development.

EETP
The Edmonton Energy and Technology Park (EETP)is a new eco-industrial area for the City of Edmonton. The EETP is strategically designed to capture value-added opportunities and significant spin-off activities based on the development Alberta’s natural resource industries including the Alberta oil sands and natural gas plays.
EETP will be of interest to chemical and energy value-added processors who want to capitalize on upgrading, processing and refining natural gas, natural gas liquids, oil and bitumen by-products. Large-scale development opportunities offer outstanding development potential for manufacturers and fabricators with excellent road and rail connections to support a strong transportation and logistics base.

ERP
The Edmonton Research Park is Edmonton’s largest centre dedicated to advanced research and technology. Established in 1980, the Edmonton Research Park is designed to provide an opportunity for companies of all sizes to explore new ideas and develop new technologies.
The Edmonton Research Park is home to more than 50 companies engaged in research across a variety of sectors including; clean energy, nanotechnology, cold climate engineering, biotechnology, software and medicine.
The Edmonton Research Park offers a variety of facilities and spaces to suit a range of companies at various stages of development. Facilities include:
- Advanced Technology Centre – an incubator for start-up companies
- Research Centre One – offers flexible lab and production space for second-stage companies
- Biotechnology Business Development Centre – provides specialized lab and office space to second-stage biotechnology companies
Sites are also available for companies to build their own research and development facilities.
